Anno 1701 Custom Maps

Imagine if Civilization 5 had no random maps, only 3 maps to choose from each tileset.Imagine if Banished had no random maps.Imagine if Endless Legend had no random maps, just 3 maps. Or 4, lets be generous.Imagine if Anno 2070 or Anno 1404 or Anno 1701 had no random maps, just 3 presets.Would you have bought those games?I sure as hell wouldnt have, would have utterly ruined the replayability of each and every single one of those previously mentioned games. What the heck were Ubisoft thinking?OH sorry, i know what they were thinking.

Anno 1701 Windows 10

40 dollars plus 20 dollar SEASON PASS.Includes 1 Tundra map!Since they now locked out the replay value of the game, the only way to get more replay value is to PAY FOR DLC MAPS. What the hell?

This isnt Call of Duty or Battlefield. You cant ruin a STRATEGY GAME CITY BUILDER like this.Dont bring those disgusting business practices into this genre.Ridiculous. You're dead to me, Anno. And you used to be one of my favorite masterpieces of a game franchize. You pulled a Command & Conquer 4. You're dead to me.

Anno 1701 Custom Maps

There are more games dying because of this. Heroes of Might and Magic series (my favorite) decides to dumb random maps. Now the game is only mixed and negative everywhere since 6th edition. Also the re release of Homm3 from Ubi/dotemu has removed random maps.

Disciples series dead since that moment too. Game is dead.Good some newer companies (Triumph studios AOW3) and Endless Legend, Prison Architect made a smart move and keeps the random maps (not in DLC form, just in the base game) and have overwhelminly positive reviews everywhere.

I really don't see your argument, Baleur.Civ 5 doesn't have a campaign, nor does ANNO 2205 have enemies of any kind (or any kind of competitor) on the same map as you. What it DOES have are handcrafted map of a quality that a random generator would never be able to accomplish. What would a random map accomplish that a handcrafted map doesn't? Oh I'm very sure that an island with a slightly different shape is all it takes to make you replay the entire game all over again. Not?Combat is done on instanced maps (also handcrafted), which is a great fit as far as I'm concerned. ANNO always failed hard at combat anyway. Moving it to a dedicated map of its own gives it a kind of focus that 2070 just couldn't pull off. Hate it or love it, it's a meaningful change that matters for the maps. You have three different maps to choose from (in EACH biome, for a total of nine) as things are - I'm sure we'll see more as time comes.

And you used to be one of my favorite masterpieces of a game franchize. You pulled a Command & Conquer 4. You're dead to me. The maps are nice and they will probably add more in future update/dlc. If you like city building game/strategy you will enjoy this game.
