Driver Compaq Presario V2000 Xp
AdvertisementsSo this is important if you want the driver for Compaq V2000.V2000 represent series and not specific product, As you can see on this post i listed most of the V2000 model. So what the difference?1.
In V2000 series, there are 3 type of graphic base on the release date,Intel 5GM - Intel 910/915GM GMS - Intel 945GM,The sad news is only intel 965 and above graphic support aero, the googd news is you can install third party aero software to enable aero. (make sure to upgrade you ram at least 2GB)However i try my best to create a post to list all the drivers for V2000 model:DRRIVER SET: AUDIO ISSUE:For windows XP you can refer here:Note that the audio require MS-UAA installed first. For windows Vista refer here:There are official release for it and you can download it here. For windows 7There are no official release but i manage to install it by edit the code in the driver files. Here some tips:1.
There are three available wireless available for compaq which are intel, atheros and broadcom, for intel wireles u need to install netframework 2.0., so try to install this one. (work under wuindows xp)2.Windows Vista - on the wireless panel, make sure you turn on wireless discovery and turn off password. You can also try to disable your firewall.can you provide me more details:-OS(xp/vista)-is it you wireless icon (and network) appear -but can connect?-waht antivirus you have(is it it have firewall). Ok the problems quite tricky normally takes time for me to check(if the lappy with me). Here simple step,1.Disable firewall2.If there are login site to connect to the internet type the url of login page.3. Note if the network manually assign the IP address or not.again a question, after connected check are u receiving packages or not.If you think the driver is the problem and want to update with latest drivers, inform the wireless model, atheros-broadcom or intel. In some cases you need to contact the internet provider, other several options is to try with other browser, if there any extension like active x, or intranet setting appear at the top just install and enable.Any other details would help.
HI Manick,ok normally when we buy PC/Laptop it came along with motherboard cd but not for your laptop and even the 1st user have it. Here i list all of the drivers needed just report any incompatible or broken link:install all the drivers after finish formatting.here is some information i would like to share, for most Compaq and Hp model you will not get the motherboard drivers when you buy it, for most newer and latest model there are no Drivers for windows XP even from the manufaturer official website. And that the reason i created this blog.If you want more details i willing to share.
Just report back the progress for the drivers instalation. Enjoy your new Compaq=).
I am rebuilding a Compaq Presario V2670US Notebook PC for a friend with XP. Got the OS installed and all drivers installed.
The problem I am having is with the wireless card (assume it is Broadcom). The drivers install without error, but when I try to get on my network at home, it acts like it is hung as it continually looks for an IP address. I have 3 laptops at home that are all wireless, and 1 desktop that is wireless, and all have been working and are working without issue. My ISP is ATT Uverse and I am using their router/modem, but I don't think that is the problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated. AnonymousI have an old Compaq 2030us that I picked up for the wife who is just learning to use computers. I would love to upgrade to windows 7 but can't seem to find any drivers at all for this computer. Is it possible to run win7 on it?
Do you have any info on where I can find the drivers for it if so? I beleive I will need them all: Graphic controller/Grapgic drivers, Wireless 2200BG, Realtek RTL8139/810x NIC, Audio, USB Host controller, Storage controller, etc. Now Win7 may install many of these (or it may not - I don't know) - Any help will be very much appreciated.Thank you in advance,Spectre. AnonymousDr Of LaptopPlease Help me, i m using Compaq Presario Laptop Model V2309US, Ihave installed Windows 7 Ultimate on that and cant able to install thedrivers for1.

I have tried and mysound has come, and it show that i have installed my VGA drivers. Butstill also i have no drivers for PCI Modem, Network Controller andMass Storage Control.ONe more thing i would like to add that - i cant able to change theAERO theme in Windows 7, i can see all that temes are on my PC but arenot changing.as i have installed the grapics drivers but wy still this problem can occures.?Pl help me on this. I want to use all the temes, if u want then i cansend u the scree shots of the same also.Pl helpRegards. Hi Guys,I suggest, you guys dont run around for drivers and try fixing it yourselves. I was beating on it for days - but no success.Just a few days later (after my Win7) installation, I got prompted for some new updates to be installed.I installed and all got fixed. So just manually update ur windows, or wait for the updates prompt,Drivers for ur comp will automatically get downloaded.Win7 detects missing drivers and communicates it across to der server, I guess they find solutions and new updates come along. My Graphics, and Audio drivers both came along with the Win7 updates.
PeteHi, I have been given a Compaq V2010ea laptop and have upgraded it from 1.4 celeron to a 1.73 pentium m with a dothan chip, also upped the ram to 2gb. The laptop works well and picks up the 1.73 ghz processor but says it is running at 1.3 ghz - I flashed the phoenix bios from F.13 to F.23 from the compaq site - I understand the bios has to be f.24 or higher to change the processor speed, is that true and is there a bios flash upgrade I can reasonably safely download that will work on this board, regards Pete. PeteHi Black-x,I gave you the wrong number sorry,my V2000 is a V2120ea not a V2010ea.
Dont know if that would change anything - I have found a 1.6 pentium m processor which I have tried and it does run at 1.6ghz - I can't see the performance being greatly increased by a 1.73ghz processor so it may be best to leave it while I'm winning, unless in your opinion I can greatly increase performance - I have aquired a 100gb 7200rpm harddrive, so that should help a bit too - don't think there is much more I can do to improve this one as I am now trying windows 7 ultimate on it. Will let you know how it goes, Thanks, Pete.
Intan i forgot to ask what OS you use, Wind XP Vista or 7?Pete sorry for my late reply, V2000 contain many models like yours and normally it works for other V2000 model like yours v2010EA,base on my experience,1.6 to 1.73 will not greatly increase your performance, 2GB ram and 7200 rpm HDD already ok, i think the graphic also cause the slow performance which is Intel 5 GM/GME Graphics Controllers Driver. (also make sure the graphic and chipset driver installed)Anyway I wait for your updates with windows 7, thanks for the feedback pete =). PeteHi Black-x, letting you know my V2120ea seems to be working without any problems on Windows 7 ultimate, I stuck with the 1.6 pentium m processor and upgraded to a 100gb 7200rpm hard drive and 2gb ram. It still needs windows 7 to sort out its PCI Modem and Video Controller in Device manager, it doesnt seem to effect the quality of the Display using the default drivers for the video and I dont use the modem anyway so I dont mind that. It isnt the fastest Laptop I have had but I love the size and sound quality, perfect for web browsing and keeping my itunes on.The only problem I have now is the adjustment on the hinges - I had previously replaced the screen (reason I got it for nothing)and the screen doesnt quite line up when closed, it does latch but is tricky to unlatch if your not used to it, anybody got any ideas because as far as I can see there is no adjustment on the hinges, annoying but not a big problem. Many thanks, Pete. PeteHi Black-x, I replaced the screen myself with a screen from another v2000 laptop, seemed to go in without problem but is just slightly miss aligned so the lid doesnt unlatch as easy as I would like - maybe need to reinstall screen again and see if it realigns but I bought some rubber grommits for the screen screw holes and it looks good so dont really want to take them out again.

The ids for the pci modem is as followsPCIVEN8086&DEV24C6&SUBSYS3080103C&REV03PCIVEN8086&DEV24C6&SUBSYS3080103CPCIVEN8086&DEV24C6&CC070300PCIVEN8086&DEV24C6&CC0703does this point to wireless ethernet as the wireless card seems to be working fine, I assumed it was the dialup modem, which I wouldnt be using anyway. Thanks for your help, Pete. Dan Kweedhi blackx. First thanks so much for all the help it seems you are providing for everyone.
I hope you can help me too. I have a v2000, but am not sure what specific model i have. My label is different than the one in this guide:sticker looks the same except there is nothing printed at all where the model number (1) should be. When i got my computer 4-5 years ago, i 'custom built' it using hp's website. Is that why i don't have a model number?also, assuming i can find a model number, will the drivers listed ^^^^^ work for 64 bit windows 7?THANKS! Ok, so far even it costum build i think it still keep the same manufacture for the hardware, there are 2 generations of V2000 which:1.The older use Intel 5 graphic.
(installing the driver require several steps for windows 7, tested with 32-bit only, never try with 64-bit)2. And the newer generations use Intel 965 graphic. (there are official drivers for it 32 and 64 bit /win71512754.exe)For the audio, so far (i check almost all the model) its use:conextant CX20468-31 AC91 audio.Ok conextant already stated they not release support for windows 7 because something bla bla with the laptop manufacturers. But, so far I never failed to install audio into this model (by modifying the drivers 32-bit and 64-bit)other driver will not be a problem. If you decide to install Win 7 64-bit, im willing to assist. Dan KweedI downloaded and unpacked the zip file you linked to ^^. I just ran the setup file in the main directory. After the install, I restarted. Here are the devices now listed under networking adapters, with hardware ID's.Bluetooth Device (personal Area Network).BTHMSBTHPAN.Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocal TDI).BTHMSRFCOMM.Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC.PCIVEN10EC&DEV8139&SUBSYS3091103C&REV10PCIVEN10EC&DEV8139&SUBSYS3091103CPCIVEN10EC&DEV8139&CC020000PCIVEN10EC&DEV8139&CC0200Nothing about wireless.
One more difference I noted, the properties window for the realtek device now has 7 tabs: general, advanced, about, driver, details, resources, and power management. TOPHERVideo problems with Turion V2000 with Xpress 200M. Installed 98 drivers from AMD/ATI. Problem is that after the screen is shut off using power management, and I wake it up hours later, the whole screen starts having artifacts, with moving dotted lines depending what's on the screen.
The only way to fix it is a restore to a restore point prior to that. Is this a driver problem that is causing some interference with other software or drivers? It is so weird that only a restore will work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers to no avail. I tried rebooting and that was just wishful thinking.
I thought it was a faulty GPU, but because it is fine after a restore leads me to believe that it is software related and not heat or hardware related. I even took the thng apart to replace the thermal contacts on the GPU and CPU. Any suggestions or any similar problems out there?
Anonymoushi brother black-xim alex.i dunno anything bout computers but i want to upgrade my laptop.i hv compaq presario V2308AP, intel centrino 1.73GHz with 504 MB RAM running on WIndos XP HE (Service pack 2).this are d info that i get fm system properties.my laptop getting slower n slower everyday.dunno wat happen and i think maybe its time to upgrade.so the question r:1) can i upgrade the processor? Lets say intel centrino2 or maybe higher? N how bout the cost?2) how bout RAM? Was thinking of 1 GB RAM or maybe higher? And how much if i upgrade?3) can i upgrade to window 7?
Wat version is suitable for me? N how much they charge to install win7 if i bring my laptop to com shop at low yat?thanks in advance. 1.7Ghz already good and yes you can upgrade, but maybe there will be some issues. Worth to try and of coz you can upgrade it at lowyat, i cant confirm but depends on the store, maybe around rm100-rm200.2. Ok for RAM, i believe your notebook use DDR1 so the price would be between RM150 to RM180 for 1GB, but IF!! You notebook come with DDR2 the price only max rm100 (normally you can get rm85-rm90.) - so far from what i know your notebook use DDR1.3. Yes yo can upgrade to windows 7, i dunno how much lowyat will charge you for the win 7 installation.
Normal PC store around KL will charge minimum RM50. But if you want genuine windows 7 here is the price list:MS Windows 7 Starter / Basic - rm169MS Windows 7 Home premium basic - rm 329MS Windows 7 professional - rm465MS Windows 7 ULTIMATE - rm649normally they will not charge for the installation and if they do maybe around rm30-50.To install windows 7 i strongly recommend to upgrade your ram first to 1GB. There are several the factors that cause your lappy to run slower.
But first upgrade your RAM. Sorry for my late reply, i try my best to help,First for the internet not fully displaying the contents.make sure you install: flash player and java plugin, then try to use other web browser such as google chrome or firefox. To anna and others who looking for card reader for windows 7, use the Texas instrument card reader driver which you can download here:after finish install right click on it and select run as administrator. Would hate to have go back to 32 and re install all my apps.
Windows picked up my ATi video and even my internal wireless card on the first update. But with no sound it's useless. I just modified your original vista driver for audio (driver coding stuff). For the PCi its the modem which is ATI SB400 AC 97 Modem Controller. For the PCi you may try this modified driver (never test it yet, i just study the relevant coding and modified it)but if you not need it just ignore it.The card reader is the only version for windows i found so far. Yet, not many people know about this.I will be offline for one month, im back to my hometown for holiday, feel great i can help you, ill check my email, thanks. Dear Black-x:Thanks a lot for your help. It was wonderful.
Yesterday night I had installed the required drivers and that was really successful. Now I can use my laptop with full functioning condition in Windows 7 environment. Without your help that was not possible. Thanks once again. I have one more query. My wife has another laptop of HP Compaq Presario V6348EA model (32 bit). I am also planning to install Windows 7 in that machine.
But HP only provide Windows Vista driver for this model. Is it possible for you to send a link for the drivers of this model which may work on Windows 7 environment? Thanks again. Best wishes,Susmit. Dear Black-x:Once again many thanks for your driver providing help. I appreciate that effort you do for others in need. As I mentioned you I have to install some drivers to my wife's laptop for Windows 7 installation, so I did.
And without any further driver installation Windows 7 automatically installed all the required drivers. But in my HP Compaq Presario V2148AP model laptop (which is my own and I requested for drivers at the first time) is giving some problem with only the audio drivers.
I installed the audio drivers as you have mentioned and now it can play all the audio files even from internet all kind of audios but there is no sound associated with movie files (irrespective of whether it is downloaded movie or a movie CD/DVD). What I saw in my drivers one device still need a driver. The device is named as PCI modem. Is that the problem? Please send me some ideas what should I do next.Best wishes,Susmit. Dear Black-x:Thanks for your help in need.
Your helps are wonderful. I did install Windows 7 with all the drivers in my wife's laptop.
Good thing is that Windows 7 detect all the devices and installed the drivers automatically. So I didn't do anything more for the drivers for my Wife's laptop. But now I have a problem with my own laptop's installation.
You may remember that I asked for some Windows 7 drivers for HP Compaq Presario V2148AP laptop. That laptop is mine. The drivers you provided me is working perfect, but yesterday I saw only movie files are having no sound. Though the sounds are working in internet, in audio files, but only problematic with downloaded or CD/DVD movies etc.
How to fix this problem. I can see in the Device manager list still one device is out of any driver (PCI modem). Is that the problem.
What I saw that my sound equaliser is not there in sound control. Is that the problem?
How to solve this then? Please help me. AnonymousOh my God Mr. Am so happy!!! I did what you said about the sd card always empty on Compaq Presario V2000 and your instructions worked!!!
Am a mother of a baby girl and am saving money for milk diapers so I could not buy new laptop,so I only upgraded my old Presario V2000 and I try to make my old laptop work as smoothly as possible, THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND EFFORT IN READING AND ANSWERING MY PROBLEM,YOU ARE A VERY GOOD MAN. For the v2135us Thank you very much. Still having a problem with the correct video driver. The driver you suggested seems to be a lower resolution than w7 will accept, so on restart it reloads the generic vga driver.
